DRG tierlist: What enemy is the most dangerous in open terrain? - the flatland-15 challenge

This ain't your grandpappy's tier list. Or maybe it is. It's... long, it's slow, it's boring, and if you clicked on it because of that beautiful thumbnail I'm sorry to be the first to tell you that you have brain damage. This is virtually uncommentated footage of a weird man shooting bugs 15 at a time in a weird brown room. The target audience is senior citizens who are bored of Matlock reruns, and they don't even know how to use the AOL online computer nintendo thingy! This video is not fit for human consumption, but fuck it, we'll do it anyway. I had the burning question of which enemy in the game would be most dangerous when encountered in large numbers and without any cover. It was a sort of stress test for my standard generalist loadout (min clips M1k + double barrel boomstick) as fighting enemies on flat terrain with no high ground to abuse and nothing to hide behind can actually be super tricky. All enemies are spawned in packs of 15 and scaled to hazard 6 solo. Their increased speed and damage over vanilla difficulties should be a decent mimicry of the absolute hardest thing you'll encounter in the third stage of an EDD. If you have any questions about my placements or thought process or favorite color or anything else, please ask as I'd be happy to answer :) These "idealized" conditions are extremes of what you might find in a real game, and I honestly think they tend to highlight some of the worst case scenarios that you might encounter in modded. There are some caveats of course (there always are). This tier list is ranked based on the notion that you'll get a lot of the particular enemy *but still need to fight other enemies that spawn alongside*. Something in the "easy" tier may become much more challenging when paired with a few "dangerous" bugs: it's that complex interaction between different enemies that keeps the game feeling so fresh. A stingtail on its own is not particularly threatening, but a stingtail hiding behind a praetorian that pulls you into slashers IS quite dangerous. The number of different combinations are astronomical and infeasible to make rigorous test cases out of beyond just playing the game and letting it randomly happen. So what is the point of this video then, you may ask. I don't have an answer for that. I don't know who the audience for this is, and I don't even know if I'm in that group lmao. It's super niche, and probably worth just skipping around between chapters to see how I handle certain groups of bugs if you're interested in seeing particular ones. I don't expect anyone to watch the whole half hour, because I'll be honest: it's far more boring than anything I've put out previously (and I've put out some stinkers). It would be like reading a dry textbook or something, except whenever there's anything interesting going on, the stupid idiot textbook maker hits you with "the proof is left as an exercise to the reader". It's a shame I spent so many hours on this turd of a video, because I certainly will never do it again. Back to low effort simple gameplay uploads for me :) --- The comments below should have some spoilers regarding my thoughts about certain tierlist placements and other discussion on particular enemies!
