KET American Graduate Champion: Markia Pence

This video tells the story of Markia Pence, who grew up poor and often homeless in Louisville, Kentucky, and now is an active volunteer among the city's poorest communities, particularly homeless youth. He believes education "saved him." There were teachers who brought him food or sought him out to provide extra support. Now, he shares his time and talent with those in need by reading to children, donating food and clothes, and performing other acts of kindness throughout the city, often at the very places that helped him.
