The Sound of Inner Peace | Singing Bowls, Tibetan Meditation | Healing Sounds of a Singing bowls

Traditionally, ancient singing bowls were made of an alloy of five metals, known in Hinduism as panchalokha and of sacred significance to the Himalayan countries. The base was copper, with the addition of tin, zinc, iron and other metals, most often gold, silver or nickel. The actual result was cast bronze or brass, ennobled with precious metal. However, according to some collectors, the actual alloy used was not standard, and bowls were made from a wide variety of components, from 3 to 12 different metals. The uniqueness of ancient singing bowls is that several harmonic overtones are sounded simultaneously. This is due to the fact that the bowls are made from an alloy of several metals, each of which sounds on its own "wave". Although the traditional techniques of making singing bowls are considered lost, bowls made by traditional hand forging are still supplied from different parts of Nepal. However, the quality of the alloy is noticeably worse than that of the ancient bowls, and it is believed that the aging process itself ennobles the sound, making it warmer and softer. Ancient singing bowls were often decorated with abstract patterns, ornaments, both on the edge of the bowl, and at its bottom. Like any antiques, ancient singing bowls are collectors' items, but their value is given not only by their age, but also by their musical qualities.
