Age of Empires II, Definitive Edition - Emperor Barbarossa, Barbarossa's March, mission 5
After a long and harsh war against the Italians, Barbarossa decided to withdraw his tired and spent armies and stop the invasion at Italy, finally getting an agreement with the Italians. The peace was fragile and was about to be broken again but a tragedy happened. The Pope Urban who was still against Barbarossa's interests died changing the entire situation, the new Pope Gregory was mostly concerned in something else than discussing with the Emperor Barbarossa. A Saracen King called Saladin, was destroying every single Crusader fortress at the middle east and taking their castles, capturing the Holy city of Jerusalem. It was the moment to make a new Crusade to retake the Holy Land control and reconquer Jerusalem, which got stolen by Saladin. The pope gave orders to The Emperor Frederick Barbarossa of the Holy Roman Empire, The King Philip II of France and The King Richard I of England( Richard The Lionheart ) to reclaim the Holy Land in the name of God and expel the Muslim Infidels from Jerusalem. The armies of France were already prepared and starting to navigate to Acre by sea with no problems, England sent their best soldiers by sea as well but The Lionheart had some problems during the way because a storm catched his ships and he had to rebuild his armies in Cyprus before arriving to Acre, The Holy Roman Empire at the hands of Barbarossa could not send the armies by sea due the massive number of troops, so the Emperor marched first to Hungary, Serbia and Bulgaria finding more soldiers who wanted to join him in his battle against Saladin and the Saracens, next target would be Legendary city of Constantinople and the small port of Gallipoli to find enough ships to sail to the Middle east, Saracens and Seljuks would be the most dangerous enemies in the zone, Barbarossa will have to reach the Hospitallers camp in the Middle East with at least a decent force or his trip will be a failure.
