Tony Hymas - Les temps nouveaux
Les Temps Nouveaux (Paris, 1871) – Tony Hymas Tony - “This commemorates the Paris Commune 1871 – an episode of equality, fairness and humanity in response to an incompetent government, which was ended by an act of betrayal. The first and second parts are based on the song ‘La semaine sanglante’ (the bloody week) which told of the massacres which followed. Part 3 is an arrangement of a song, ‘Nel Sorriso’ which I wrote for Marie Thollot (lyrics by Christian Tarting). The whole piece is compiled from music written for the disk ‘DE L’ORIGINE DU MONDE’ which celebrated the painting by Gustave Courbet and the events of the Commune.” Ref: Disques Nato 3920 (2010) - http://www.natomusic.fr/catalogue/musique-jazz/cd/nato-disque.php?id=272 Tony’s website - www.tonyhymas.com Sound – Cameron McMillan - www.signalaudio.co.uk Video – Thomas Hymas - www.thomashymas.com
