UAE launches new banknote of 1000 dirhams (AED)
The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced the issuance of a new banknote of 1,000 dirhams, made of polymer, with innovative designs, with modern and advanced security features. The new banknote of 1,000 dirhams will be available in the Central Bank branches and ATMS in the first half of the year 2023, and the current 1,000 dirham banknote will continue to be in circulation, as it is a guaranteed value banknote by law.
