Making a Dragon Head Damascus Wakizashi

Forging a Damascus Wakizashi with a carved Dragons head inspiration came from the video game skyrim. There is a Mod you can download for dragon bone katanas and swords and a sword similar to this one is in that bundle. I have grown up a huge fan of the elderscrolls series and felt like this build would challenge me a bladesmith. When I started this build I knew what I wanted it to look like but did not know how to get there. The steel came from the idea to try and resemble dragon scale so I started with some HIGH Carbon steel cable then added in layers of 15n20 for some unique contrast. I have never made cable damascus before this and quickly realized it is tougher than regular layered billets. It wants to split apart and try to escape you as you forge it. When making the handle I didn't want it to be plain again I've never carved bone and antler before, but hey there is a first time for everything. Overall I am happy and pleased with the outcome of this sword! This knife is available for purchase.
