Mermaid in Love Vladimir Yelin Chapter 21. Taming the Wetsuit The pool was warm, the current light, Its waters fed from ocean deep. He waded in with thoughts held tight, And let resolve begin to creep. He trusted in the suit he wore— It sensed his mind, it knew his will. Each move recalled his lessons stored, From whispered drills remembered still. It flowed like fins in open tide, It turned with grace and silent might. A flick and he would swiftly glide, Empowered in the liquid light. Delighted by this new control, He danced beneath the pool’s bright dome. The sea had always stirred his soul— And now, beneath, he felt at home. He darted fast, he spun with joy, Then nearly crashed into the guide! The trainer raised a hand, annoyed— Then calmly pulled him to the side. “Inside this space, you’re free to fly— But don’t get reckless when it’s real. Beyond these walls, the risks run high— And thrill can break what time can’t heal.” He bowed his head and took the note, Then asked for drills, more moves to try. The trainer smiled and cleared his throat: “Alright,” he said. “Let’s see you fly.”
