Soma Labs Rumble of Ancient Times RoAT Recordings at Paradise Cove, Mauritius
On a recent holiday to the aptly named Paradise Cove Boutique Hotel in Mauritius, we had the chance to relax on the cove beach. Whilst most guests sunbathed and read, I preferred the shade and playing with Soma Labs Rumble of Ancient Times (RoAT) little battery powered synthesiser. I recorded the results of my improvised performances on an Olympus LS-P4 recorder. I also took some video. This video was supposed to have been the sunrise on the Peninsular, but the sky was cloudy so it turned into a video of a large bank of clouds slowly moving across the sky to eventually reveal the sun. The video has been processed and most of it runs at 5 times speed to accentuate the motion of the clouds. The original RoAT recording used as the soundtrack to the video has been edited to shorten it and mastered in Sound Forge with some added reverb.
