When an Alien Life Form lands on the earth and takes up residence with an American family, you have the makings of a successful sitcom. 'Alf' (1986) was actually a puppet under the control of co-producer Paul Fusco. The technical challenges were considerable, and the lead human (Max Wright) didn't hide the fact that he was 'hugely eager to have ALF over with'. But it took four seasons for that day to arrive. Fusco reportedly would rewrite scripts to give Alf all the funniest lines. The theme music is by Tom Kramer and Alf (no relation) Clausen.
