Defence Secretary Grant Shapps gives statement on UK military spending and Ukraine aid package

Grant Shapps will give a statement to the House of Commons on the government's recently announced increase in defence spending. The Defence Secretary will also outline plans to provide a further aid package to Ukraine and increase UK manufacturing output of military equipment and ammunition. The statement follows on from Oliver Dowden stepping in for Rishi Sunak at PMQs today with the Prime Minister on a trip to Germany. Dowden will face off against Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner, with questions sure to be raised over the council house controversy for Keir Starmer's No2.
