1950 Ford F4
⚠️SOLD⚠️ . Price : $12,595 (Firm) Condition : Good Year : 1950 Make : Ford Model : F4 # of Cylinders : 8 Engine Displacement : 302 Cubic Inches Fuel Type : Gas Transmission Type : Manual Drive : RWD Cab Style : Regular Cab Bed Length : Flat Bed Location : Grants Pass, OR, USA If you are a huge fan of the 50’s Ford F4 trucks, you probably understand how Andy got so excited when he first saw this 1950 Ford at an estate sale. As a passionate car and motorcycle owner, Andy saw the possibilities of combining a classic Ford with a modern drive train, creating in his imagination the perfect truck for his business and home needs. Years in the building coincided with finding his soul mate in marriage and priorities were shifted. A house to be built took over the compass needle and the truck (and soon his motorcycle) are being fed into the budget of building. The body work and paint had been completed before the build was started so the drive train is where the focus was given. The straight 6 was pulled out and a rebuilt carburetored Ford 302 was installed. Andy added a Ford M5R2 5-Speed Transmission to the back of the engine with a new clutch assembly between them. The rear axle is a 2006 Ford F250 3:73 with floating axles and drum brakes. The front end is a stock 1950 beam axle with stock brake drums. Front wheels were custom made to replace the factory split rims (which almost no one will service or mount tires too) allowing modern sized tires to be fitted. A prized find was the flat bed from a Ford Model A Truck that was refinished and added to the build. And then Andy found domesticity. And the truck sat, stalled and not quite finished. It was able to drive and stop (1950’s drum effective..) but there are no wipers, the emergency brake is ready to be mounted, lots of minor stuff that just did not get done including the dash and head liner.
