Up and running with OpenGL on Windows // OpenGL Beginners Series

In this video I will go over the major steps of getting OpenGL up and running on Windows 10. We will install Visual Studio 2019 Community Edition (free), Git for Windows, Tortoise Git (user-friendly GUI for Git), FreeGLUT and GLEW. We will clone my OGLDEV source repo and I will walk you through the file structure. Finally, we will create a Visual Studio solution for OpenGL from scratch. If you are using Ubuntu you should check out my corresponding video for Linux: https://youtu.be/h2cP6sQYdf0 Please visit https://ogldev.org to see more of my tutorials on modern OpenGL. ** Download links: Visual Studio 2019: https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/vs/ Git For Windows: https://git-scm.com/download/win Tortoise Git: https://tortoisegit.org/ FreeGLUT: http://freeglut.sourceforge.net/ GLEW: http://glew.sourceforge.net/ OGLDEV Git repo: https://github.com/emeiri/ogldev OpenGL 4.6 specification: https://www.khronos.org/registry/OpenGL/specs/gl/glspec46.core.pdf Timecodes: 0:00 Intro 0:17 Main steps 2:13 FreeGLUT and GLEW background 3:44 Step #1 - Verify OpenGL support 4:46 Step #2.a - Install Visual Studio 2019 5:46 Step #2.b.1 - Install Git 6:29 Step #2.b.2 - Install Tortoise Git 6:57 Step #2.c - Install FreeGLUT 8:29 Step #2.d - Install GLEW 9:05 Step #3 - Clone my OGLDEV source repo 10:51 Step #4 - Create a visual studio solution for OpenGL from scratch Feel free to comment below.
