#754 Tekken 5 (PS2) Unplayable Characters (2/2): Training Dummy/ Wild Card mk. 6. playthrough.

A playthrough of the unplayable character Metal Mokujin/Training Dummy/ Wild Card mk. 6 in the PS2 port of Namco’s Tekken 5. ThatDumbBear, a long-time viewer of mine, remarked a while back that he felt that gold Tetsujin was an “ascended Wild Card”, or something to that effect. I think he was onto something, as our last officially unofficial character to cover seems like a typical Wild Card derivative. Acting as the training dummy of the game, this model is a bit more interesting than the one we saw in Tekken 4 to say the least, looking like a metal form of Mokujin. Surprisingly enough, playing as him is actually pretty fun too. He takes on the moveset of the character he’s facing, which makes for a unique and fun playthrough. This even happens in the fight against Jinpachi, in which…I actually manage to get the fireball attack to work, and destroy Jinpachi with it. Does this mean that Wild Card is the single most powerful entity in the universe? Yes, yes it does. It reminds me of Vegeta witnessing Goku going Super Saiyan for the first time. Except with fewer people dying/getting cut in half. Actually, hold that thought, it will be relevant in the (somewhat) near future. This was actually a pretty fun playthrough. I always enjoy oddities like this, and seeing the character models used for thing there were never meant for is always entertaining, and rather fun too. This is, pretty much, the last we get to see of Wild Card. A brave soldier who fought to the end, became a God, lost it, and fought to the end to take down Jinpachi, even (presumably) at the expense of his own life. Truly he was the most anime hero of them all. And his name was Wild Card. Next time, we blow this popsicle stand as I get to move onto the expansion of Tekken 5.
