ILCE-7M2 AF performance FW 1.21 Vs. 2.0
Quick comparison of AF speed between FW 1.21 and FW 2.0 using A-mount SSM and SAM lenses with the Sony ILCE-7M2 via Sony LA-EA1 A-mount to E-mount adapter. Latest update brings a big improvement in AF-S performance when using LA-EA1 and LA-EA3 adapters and now enables AF-C mode setting. There are still too many limitations compared to using a true A-mount camera like the A77 II speed-demon, but this will bring AF performance from the A7 II closer to that seen on the A7R II when using A-mount adapted lenses via LA-EA1 or LA-EA3 adapters. NOTE: I have found it is also possible to revert back to contrast AF only in FW2.0 but so far I haven't found any use for this. Will keep on PDAF only.
