Neuron Ion Channels (HD+)

This video describes the roles and functions of ion channels within the cell membrane of a neuron cell. I talk about the role of sodium and potassium and how they correlate with rising and falling phases of an action potential. I describe voltage gated ion channels and what they mean. I also explain the three different conformations of the sodium channel and how it's significant to unidirectional flow of the electrical signal down the axon to the axon terminal.
