Splitting the crank cases. Thankfully the retaining screws at the bottom of the cases came out without too much difficulty. Then on to removing the crank case bolts / screws and then finally splitting the cases. One side came away with no problem. The other half needed a little heat on the crank case to let go of the main shaft. Immediately noticed that the rollers from the main bearings stayed with the crank so will need to remove them while removing the main bearing.
