FINALLY! The NEW LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 Set Images Have Been Revealed! (May 4th 2021 Release) At long last! Here, today, The LEGO Group have finally unveiled this year's May 4th set, and it's a buildable, not UCS, R2-D2 set! This is part of the adult line of LEGO sets and is an updated version of the 2012 LEGO Star Wars UCS R2-D2. This new and updated version comes with a handful of new features, as well as an updated smoother design. There's a miniature Luke Skywalker's lightsaber build which can be concealed in the top of the buildable R2-D2's head, and there's also a brand new periscope which wasn't present in 2012 version. This set will retail for $199.99 which I think people who own the original buildable UCS LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 may struggle to justify spending to get this updated version.
