Aaron Hopper | "Don’t Let the Storm Drag You Down" | Boneyard Sessions
On this day on Tommeginne country, northern Tasmania, Aaron Hopper shared a very special place, Tang Dim Mer (Sister’s Beach), where the rare Giant Banksia Serrata occur, a flower as old as Gondwana. Appropriate as Aaron and his partner are some of my oldest friends. We met when I was at university in Bathurst, NSW, Aaron was the only gigging musician I knew at the time. I’ve always admired the way he makes music a part of every aspect of his life and vice versa. He has an eye for the profound and the humorous. He gives respect to music and to story, whether playing international festivals with his duo Stringman Sassy, or writing songs with inmates at the prison in Roebourne, Western Australia, where he lived and worked for several years.
