Ham Radio Parks on the Air - 153 QSOs in 3 Hours at Park K-1000!
WQ9F Ham Radio does another Parks on the Air Activation from Illinois Beach State Park, K-1000. Enjoy a highlight video where I had my highest number of QSO's from a single park in a day. Ended with 153 Total QSO's 127 on SSB 26 on FT8 20m - 125 SSB QSO's and 1 FT8 15m - 6 FT8 QSO's 10m - 2 SSB QSO's and 11 FT8 6m - 8 FT8 Contacts Illinois Beach State Park is what I would call my Local Park even though it is still about an hour away. It is located in the towns of Winthrop Harbor, Zion and Beach Park in Norhtern Illinois. It broken into two sections, separated by what used to be the Zion Nuclear Power Plant which has since been de-commissioned. It spans 4160 acres and has over 6 miles of shoreline along Lake Michigan. My operating position is located in grid square EN62ck. EN62 comprises mostly water in Lake Michigan and covers the states of Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan.
