The Yorkshire Jubilee - 45699 & The Scarborough Spa Express 2019
The Scarborough Spa Express season of 2019 saw LMS Jubilee 45699 'Galatea' take charge of the weekly excursion, working the steam leg from York to Scarborough. Week in, week out, 45699 performed faultlessly. Sadly, as the season was drawing to an end, 'Galatea' was declared a failure, and was sent back to Carnforth. However, SR Bullied Pacific 35018 'British India Line' was sent to York after working the Dalesman from Hellifled to Carlisle & return. 35018 worked one of the final two Scarborough Spa trips before failing her FTR exam, the day prior to the final trip of the year, with injector issues. This resulted in the two class 47's hauling the trip throughout. **The following Sunday, 35018 was fixed and hauled the final Waverley of the year from York to Carlisle. Recently returned to service, LMS Royal Scot 46115 'Scots Guardsman', joined the tour at Hellifield for a double headed trip over the S&C. The pair returned for York at around 9pm that night and hauled the ECS back to Carnforth on the Monday.**
