Fix aged care – it’s now or never

The crisis in aged care has never been more dire. Staff shortages are so bad that residents are missing out on medication, meals and even water. Put simply, the sector is hopelessly and dangerously ill-equipped to meet the needs of our vulnerable elderly. The marginal seat of Boothby, a constituency with one of the oldest demographics in the country, is critical to the outcome of the looming federal election. This election, every federal politician must make aged care an election priority and commit to delivering a system that respects staff and residents and keeps them safe. Our panel of speakers have discussed the current critical issues affecting the aged care sector and the impact on older South Australians. It’s time to support the federal politicians that support aged care reform.
