Swamp Fever - Expert - Left 4 Dead 2 - Blundering Bots (Part 6)
This is part 6 of the record of my run through Swamp Fever on expert mode: part of our quest for the Still Something To Prove achievement. Part six: Rescue arrives. The best spot Ive seen, and subsequently tried, is holding the top of the stairs. One guy should monitor each side with the other two watching the stairs, and keeping an eye out for spitters/smokers on the upper level. This is the ideal spot however it is entirely contingent on the whims of the bots. When the tank music starts up, get out of the house. Always take the stairs, unless the tank is right in the front door in which case find an alternate rout to the ground level. Do not fight the tank in the house, he promptly kick your ass. I cant tell you how many times I lost because the bots decided it would be a good idea to stand in the house and get crushed while I ran outside. Light the tank when the opportunity arises and follow standard tank fighting protocols. Watch out for rocks. Once hes down grab some ammo if you can and get back to the top of the stairs. Now Rochelle decided that it would be a good idea to leave the group and pick up some pills in another section of the house. This was bad because I knew as soon as she went down the other bots would run to her to try and save her, so I threw a pipebomb and went after her. The bloody mess that ensued left both Coach and Rochelle back and white and nick pretty beat up as well. You have to fight two tanks after the second hoard before the gate explodes and the path to the boat is made clear. I had to throw 2 separate Molotovs in order to light them both. Now your attention will be focused on the tanks but be mindful of special infected. This is where they are the most dangerous. Last thing you want is to get jumped by a jockey after the tanks are lit. The bots will not save you and your human allies may not be able to reach you in time. When they go down wait for the gate to explode and run for the boat. I had time to revive nick; the only bot the tanks didnt kill. I revived him mainly to be a decoy while I made my escape, because I knew there was a charger and a spitter out there somewhere. Amazingly he actually made it to the boat. Now I like the boat as a rescue vehicle, but I really thing you should have been saved by Jeff Milburn driving a Kia Sportage. Hey Guys! Welcome to the swamp. AYEEEEEE!! OVER NINETHOUSAND zombies were harmed in the making of this film
