A trans football coach becomes a father figure to LGBTQIA+ homeless youth, building a team that flourishes into a family. Pa Vann, a trans man in his 60s, founded a football team for young LGBTQIA+ players, many of whom were estranged from their parents. Extending his home to house them, he also teaches them carpentry skills while dishing out nuggets of wisdom, providing much needed stability and acceptance. This uplifting documentary celebrates Pa Vann’s incredible work while focussing in on two lads, Leak and Amas, with their plans to transition and one day leave Pa’s rural haven for the capital. Filmed over five years, we see the teens and team grow in the supportive environment created by this humble hero.
