There are 2 new bosses for Honkai Star Rail, a Stagnant Shadow Boss (for Character Ascension Material) and an Echo of War Boss (for Trace Ascension Material). These are both locked behind story progression and the new Character Blade uses both of these to level up so you'll need to finish the story if you were able to pull him and want to Level him as best as possible.
