400 .223 Rounds Hand-loaded over a few days and just about 13 hours. Cost to hand-load, $150.
1. Swaging took me about 4 to 6 hours, roughly, taking a break every hour. 2. Resizing took me about 4 to 6 hours, roughly, taking a break every hour and not to mention that I had to wait about a week for the replacement sizing dies to be delivered. 3. Priming, OMG, that was taxing on my hand, Lee hand primer is a nice tool, but not when you have to prime 400 shells. That process took me about 2.5 hours. 4. Powder/Seating took the least amount of time, about 2 hours, I had my older son help, I powdered the shells and he would seat the bullet, effective assembly line, (we did the same for the 40S&W/.38/.357 loading). Overall the time to hand-load all 400 rounds, just 13 to 14 hours. Cost to load was about $150, taking into consider or price per rounds, .14 cents for powder, .03 for primer, .00 for brass and .20 for bullet. 8 hours of labor, FREE.
