AONM Webinar with Prof. Leona Gilbert and Markus Berger (ArminLabs)

Scientific Evidence to Support the Use of Phytochemicals for Lyme Borreliosis Evidence based medicine, defined by clinical judgement, relevant scientific evidence, and the patients’ values and preferences, is leading how clinicians practice medicine even in the field of tick-borne diseases. Specifically for Lyme Borreliosis, numerous clinicians are employing phytochemicals in their practices for various reasons such as lack of antibiotic efficacy and/or political reasons. To provide an evidence-based approach to the use of phytochemicals in the treatment of Lyme Borreliosis, a thorough assessment of peer reviewed articles was conducted. Despite there being numerous patient and clinical anecdotal testimonies, commercial products, and even books published on the use of phytochemicals for the treatment or support of Lyme Borreliosis, scientific evidence is still needed. This presentation has the goal to provide the scientific evidence to support the use of phytochemicals for Lyme Borreliosis and highlight areas where research is lacking. The hope is that the audience appreciates that this area is emerging and that further collaborations between the practicing clinicians and scientists are needed. www.aonm.org || [email protected] || +44 (0)3331 210 305 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐑: 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐎 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐖𝐄𝐁𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐃𝐎𝐄𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞, 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.
