Winona doctor retires after 48 years
WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) -- A Winona doctor is hanging up his coat after almost 50 years in the community. After nearly half of a century, it's hard to say how many lives he's touched throughout his time in Winona. Doctor Charles Shepard has been an Internal Medicine Physician at Winona Health for 48 years. On Saturday he called it a career. "Well, I have mixed feelings about it. But you know, I've listened to patients for years and they have told me 'you'll know when it's time'. I have that feeling now," said Shepard. He says he plans to fill his retirement with fishing, family and fiddling. In appreciation of his years of service, Winona Heath is making a gift to the Winona Health Foundation in Dr. Shepard’s honor.
