Apple has a free swollen battery replacement program for Early 2015 13" MacBook Pros too!
On April 21st, 2018 Apple announced that they would replace swollen batteries on 13" non-Touchbar Late 2016 model MacBook Pros. My Early 2015 13" model is pretty heavily bowed (keyboard peaks between cmd and spacebar and the bottom of the case is bent) despite enjoying relatively pedestrian use. I decided to contact AppleCare to see if it was also covered and was advised that while mine isn't specifically covered by that program, there is a different program that covers replacing the battery and repairing any damage associated with it for free! If you have (or had) a 13" MacBook Pro with a swollen battery, you should contact AppleCare and find out if you may be eligible for a free repair. Here's some info on Apple Recall and Repair programs: https://www.macworld.co.uk/news/apple/apple-product-recalls-free-repairs-3635187 #toc-3635187-3 Update: the tech told me the program is within 3 years of purchase, so if you have one of these machines with this problem, best to act quickly.
