Winding a DIY Sustainer Driver
DIY Sustainers are a project where there has been relatively little development beyond the most simple of circuits paired with a coil of wire around a magnet. I set out to create a better DIY sustainer by doing what any reasonable person does: I bought a commercial system and reverse engineered it. This driver design is the same construction but with more commonly available materials to make it easier for the DIY community to undertake. A full material list and specifications can be found here: https://scientificguitarist.wixsite.com/home/sustainer-driver-coil For a full rundown of reverse engineering the commercial system, go here: https://scientificguitarist.wixsite.com/home/sustainer-reverse-engineering This driver design works best with a circuit like the Sustainiac, as found in the link above, or with my Fermata sustainer circuit, which you can find here: https://scientificguitarist.wixsite.com/home/fermata-sustainer 00:00 - Intro 02:13 - Kit Contents Overview 04:15 - Mounting Magnets to PCB 06:11 - Winding the Coils 12:30 - Wiring the Driver 24:55 - IMPORTANT NOTE! 25:10 - Final Assembly
