Parsha Bechukosai: Walking in G d's commandments - a lesson as to how to live life
Torah Thoughts by Rabbi Nathan Davidovich Parsha Bechukosai - Walking in G-d's commandments - a lesson as to how to live life The first sentence of this week Torah reading, Bechukosai, states “if you will walk in my statutes”, which is then followed by a listing of the rewards for keeping G-d's commandments. The holy Ohr Hachaim, Rabbi Chaim Ben Atar, who lived initially in Morocco and then finally in Israel, who died in the early part of the 18th century, prolifically wrote many commentaries on the Torah. In the first sentence of this week's Parsha, he wrote 42 separate interpretations of the meaning of this sentence. From his commentaries we can learn a lesson of how to live within the ladder of holiness.
