Left 4 Dead 2 Video Recording Test - Failure
Clip of me getting death charged like a pro. Plus mario music from an ingame mod. The video was recorded once at normal speed to get the audio, and once at 25% playback speed at 15fps to get 60fps footage. To sync the two up, I simply went to the correct tick in the demo and bound both fraps record and demo_resume to the same key. I figured youtube was going to throw away the extra 30 frames, so I used virtualdub's interpolate feature to convert it down to 30fps. The first half of this video uses "Linear Blending" for the interpolation. The second half simply cuts out every other frame. I'm uploading this video to get an idea of which looks better. The solution may in fact be to use something other than that vdub filter for my interpolation. Comment and tell me which half looks betters/smoother.
