Two Simple Ayurvedic Recipes:Curried Red Lentils and Stewed Cinnamon Apples

In this video I prepare two basic Ayurvedic recipes. Ayurveda is an Ancient Indian Medical Science which focuses on preventative care to heal and maintain balance. I am currently taking a course with the Boston Ayurveda School and am in no way an expert. I am still learning, but wanted to share pieces of my journey with you. You can use these recipes regardless of your lifestyle. Most importantly they are healthy and quick/cheap meals to prepare. I hope to create more videos on Ayurveda in the future to give you more background. In the meantime check out the website below: http://www.bostonayurvedaschool.com/about Red Curried Lentils: Ingredients 1 shredded or chopped carrot About 1 1/2 cups shredded zucchini (about half of a zucchini) 2 chopped sweet potatoes 1 can of Unsweetened Coconut Cream or Milk 2-3 Tablespoons of tomato paste 1 cup red lentils 2 cups water **note Ayurveda promotes using fresh and whole ingredients so if you have the time to make your own tomato paste or prefer to use fresh tomatoes go ahead! Seasoning 1/4 teaspoon or less of hing or asafetida powder 1 teaspoon of cumin 1 teaspoon of curry powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon of mustard Seeds 2 tablespoons of ghee to sauté veggies and temper mustard seeds Stewed Cinnamon Apples recipe is from @Radhi Devlukia's blog.
