It is one of the oldest instruments of human-kind, as it has been around since prehistoric times. LUTHIEROS 16″ Ocean Drum has 16″ diameter (40 cm) and 10 cm depth, adding a great set of extra frequencies to your playing. It also features two soundboards using animal skin, along with small bits (made of natural materials) between them for the “water/wave effect”. It can produce a great variety of tones thanks to the spreading of shock waves moving across the skin. Frame drums are the oldest and most common kind of drum, and they were used in Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, etc. What’s more, they were used until today during the special mystagogic ceremonies of the Sufi, where the use of music, rhythm, and dance are essential elements to reach particular states of consciousness. Ocean Drums is a modern twist of the ancient musical instruments, ideal for percussionists wanting to add more sound effects to their playing. Ocean Drum can be played to accompany ancient and modern instruments, providing depth in the sound of a music band. It can also be used independently, to provide a mystic sound background to special events and moments. “[…] Rhythm finds its way into the secret places of the soul.” – Plato // About LUTHIEROS 22″ Dahare BENDIR (frame-drum) with a tuning system This is a premium musical instrument, known as Dahare or Dahare-style bendir.
