Nelly Gets Busted For Drugs
Former NFL star Larry Johnson was arrested last week at the Bellagio hotel in Vegas after allegedly strangling an ex-girlfriend. Johnson denied the accusation, claiming the woman was just an acquaintance, who refused to leave his room after a night of partying at Bank Nightclub. According to TMZ, Johnson was charged with one count of felony domestic battery by the Clark County D.A. - which could mean five years in prison and a $15,000 fine. Bad news for the the 32-year-old former running back, who once signed a 45 million dollar contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Speaking of which - rap star Nelly was busted in Texas this week with a LOT of very illegal substances. Nelly's bus was stopped at the same Sierra Blanca check-point Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, and Fiona Apple have had trouble at over the last few years. Unlike them, however, Nelly had enough junk on his bus to make for a VERY serious crime. There were seven passengers in total on the bus, and after they were all detained, one - a man named Brian Keith Jones - told officers the substances were his. Nelly and the rest of his crew were let go, but Jones was arrested on-site and faces some serious jail time. And finally, Michael Vick, who famously served hard time for brutally killing several dogs in 2007, has admitted that his family now owns one as a pet. Animal rights groups were predictably outraged, but Vick defended himself by saying, "I understand the strong emotions by some people about our family's decision to care for a pet. As a father, it is important to make sure my children develop a healthy relationship with animals." Vick has been through a lot of therapy and rehabilitation, and seems to have had a genuine change of heart.
