How to fix Metro Exodus Damir bug in Caspian Sea

My solution was to just try jumping a few times in front of the ledge and then to look at Damir. He then appeared in front of me and the quick time event activated. Hope this works for others also. Why is this game so buggy!? Played on Xbox One X
