The Mawignack Preserve - A Virtual Tour
This video provides a virtual tour of the 1.5 mile hiking trail in the Mawignack Preserve in Catskill, NY which is owned by Scenic Hudson and maintained by the Greene Land Trust. In addition to the walking tour, interviews with local experts who contributed to the informational kiosks installed along the trail provide historical and environmental perspectives on this land, including: early indigenous settlement and displacement; European colonization; railway history; agricultural and other land use; environmental protection and conservation. This video was funded by a grant from the Hudson River Valley Greenway.
