Only in Illinois, 12-2-2016
The Illinois General Assembly finished a tense and at times hostile fall veto session on Dec. 1. It ended with Gov. Bruce Rauner vetoing a $215 million funding bill for Chicago Public Schools after accusing Democrats of reneging on an agreement to pass comprehensive pension reform. It also included lawmakers passing a major energy bill in which Exelon agreed to keep a pair of nuclear power plants open in exchange for $235 million in ratepayer-funded subsidies. Amanda Vinicky of NPR Illinois joins Matt Dietrich on this week's "Only in Illinois."
