[Warrior] The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall [17] | Mynisera's Letters | Castle Necromoghan

Welcome back to The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, a role-playing game built for MS DOS. This is our Warrior playthrough where we focus primarily on the Knightly Orders, the Fighters' Guild, and the Temple Quests. In this episode, we return to the main questline in order to respond to Queen Aubk-i's summons. We find out that Mynisera has been misplacing letters from the province of Daggerfall and that she has been sending them away to Castle Necromoghan. While Queen Aubk-i wishes for us to retrieve as many of those letters as we can find, this might constitute a lead for us with regard to whatever happened to the letter that Emperor Uriel Septim VII sent to the Queen of Daggerfall. Castle Necomoghan, situated in Daggerfall, was not a terribly difficult dungeon. For the most part, it was rather simple and straightforward, and the only thing making it difficult for me was my lack of potions and preparation. That having been said, we had searched through the entire castle only to remain empty-handed. Hence, I decided to keep exploring and found a few more places left unvisited, including areas under the water. Ultimately, I had to resort to flipping all kinds of switches and attempting to interact with everything that I could possible touch in hopes of triggering something that would hopefully lead me to said letters. After all was done, all we were left with was a trapdoor that wouldn't open. I thought to use a queer skull in a random part of the dungeon and try to open the trapdoor that way only to find myself successful in doing so. At long last, after having scoured every other inch of the dungeon, we finally managed to find the letters that we were looking for. All that remained was to give the letters back to Queen Aubk-i. While my character does not read letters in the game, the Queen's response more or less piqued my interest, and I loaded up an older save to go through them. Turns out, they talked of the genocide of the Orsimer. At this point, my character's inclinations find themselves shifting towards the Orcs and hopefully carving out a place for them amidst a world that despises them. Here's how the detour of Castle Necomoghan went: 00:00:00 Introduction 00:02:07 Queen Aubk-i's request 00:06:14 Castle Necomoghan 00:16:03 Down the rabbit hole 00:33:59 Back on the beaten path 00:51:39 The Wraith Ambush 01:00:00 The hunt for hidden doorways 01:12:50 The Researching Game 01:23:45 New areas in old places 01:30:45 Breakthrough 01:34:57 Exiting the dungeon 01:39:09 Queen Aubk-i's remarks 01:41:35 Contents of the letters 01:43:42 Parting words Stay tuned for more Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall!
