Astro video & photography with SiOnyx Aurora night vision & Sony Alpha – tripod and camera setup

If like me you spend too much time comparing fiddly attachments & products, trying to work out what you need, hopefully this video will be of some help or inspiration. Through trial & error I have settled on the items shown here for my astro and night vision treks outdoors. I'm not adding affiliate links for the hardware but you can do me a favour if you decide to buy from the likes of Amazon – go via their Smile.Amazon links as they will donate a small % of your purchase to your chosen charity. Result! Oh and I'm in the UK but products here tend to be the same in £ as they are in $. The hardware used: Manfrotto MVT502AM tripod (£190) Manfrotto MVH500A video head (£120) SiOnyx Aurora Sport (£350) SiOnyx Aurora Pro (£1000) Sony Alpha A6300 (£800) Sony Alpha A6500 (£1200) Samyang 135mm f/2.0 manual focus fixed lens (£400) Samyang 12mm f/2.0 wide-angle manual focus fixed lens (£200) Neewer aluminium video cage (£55) Smallrig Panoramic ball head mount BUT2665 (£20) Ultrafire IR Flashlight 940nm Zoomable (£20) Generic Zoomable visible light torch (£10) Slimline Anker 10000mAh power bank (£15) Elegiant phone tripod mount (£10) Fotyrig cold shoe mounts (£5) Furniture levelling feet (£5) Flashlight torch mounts (£5) GoPro-style torch/handlebar clamp mount (£5) And last but not least, a decent head-mounted, red-light capable head torch! Brilliant to access camera controls without ruining your night eyes. I recommend the Fenix HL12R for performance/value ratio (£35) This channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5o2gjXxK78KcpTBfBpGmXQ?
