AMD engineers working on Mantle API type extensions for OpenGL

An AMD engineer (Graham Sellers) has come out stating that their red team has been working on high performance extensions that will allow for OpenGL based systems to have the same type of performance that the Mantle API has that wont bottleneck performance and will allow games to reach hardware limits. It seems as he said they are making the extensions to get highest performance and should get systems to their peak. I believe this is how he said it he was tweeting with random people, so it sounds as if people with Nvidia cards may benefit from this. WiiU may as well but thats a big distant if heard no word on this if it will or not, PS4 and X1 should already be able to use Mantle API as they are GCN based systems though this does not mean the X1 and PS4 will but I think they can. Steam OS should benefit from Mantle API as well.
