Sony A6000 Focus Peaking with Adapted Vintage Lenses

Check out this quick video tutorial of how to use focus peaking on your Sony A6000 camera to help manually focus adapted vintage lenses. One of the features that is lost when you adapt vintage lenses is autofocus. Lucky for us modern mirrorless cameras have features built in to assist us manual focus. One of these aides is a focus highlighting feature called focus peaking. Focus peaking works by highlighting the in focus portion of the picture with a color. Sony allows you to choose from three different colors on the A6000 (red, yellow, white). In addition to being able to customize your color, you can also choose the "Peaking Level". The peaking level controls how much highlighter will overlay the focused portions of the picture. You can choose from (high, mid, low, none). In this quick video tutorial we'll look at how to turn on peaking, set different peaking colors, set different peaking levels, and take a quick test video showing peaking in action. Written Instructions: Power on A6000 Press Menu Button For Peaking color: Gear Icon Page #2 Peaking color (Red, Yellow, White) For peaking level: Gear icon Page #2 Peaking Level (High, Mid, Low, Off) Adapting vintage lenses can be an excellent way to acquire quality glass at a bargain price.
