Sid Meier's Colonization : K Stands for TUCKY! - Episode 36

We start pissing off the King some more. We build up the military. I smell a War brewing. Colonization is my first love. Forget women, forget life. Colonization. I remember buying this game and my love for history took me another plane of existence with it. I remember reading the instruction book, yes book, many times over. Sid Meier really expanded my love for not only history, but the colonial era, and my enduring exploration of what if scenarios in gaming and history. It is a turn-based strategy game themed on the early European colonization of the New World, starting in 1492 and lasting until 1850. Colonization is much like a more-developed version of Sid Meier's previous game Civilization (1991) in visual design and handling, but the two have marked differences in gameplay. Instead of forging a nation from nothing, the player manages the cross-Atlantic expansion of an established one in the service of the Crown. As the colonies become more self-sufficient their subservience shifts from boon towards bane, and to win the player must ultimately declare independence and defeat the Royal Expeditionary Force in battle --Links-- Watch me Live on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/StevenThomasGaming Subscribe to the Gamer Nation: http://bit.ly/13BzvUF Follow me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/StevenThomasKY Donate Directly to Steve: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/StevenThomasGaming Support the Channel: https://www.patreon.com/StevenThomasGaming Business Inquiries: [email protected] --Steven Thomas-- Born in the 80s deep inside the foothills of Kentucky, Steve works as a professional social studies educator (teacher) and YouTuber.
