Painterly Effect: iClone Render then DaVinci Resolve Effects
So one of the iClone forum users posted this video: https://youtu.be/MfU07aMziP0, and we had a lively discussion about how it was achieved, and what they achieved. We agreed it felt like a "visual poem." It made me want to play with effects to get a painterly look. I just grabbed the same video I posted last night and started playing with effects in DaVinci's Fusion page. This is how the artists made the video above: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbACrkjEaLc. Takes an entire team, but wow. I don't think I'd use this effect for the space opera story, and it was just a first try, but I thought it was pretty cool, so thought I'd post it. Might be really fun for a fantasy-type story. Add in some of the 2d matte-style sets, using the parallax idea, etc. (This is assuming I can even replicate it again, lol) And here's the forum page, if you'd like to read more of the discussion. https://forum.reallusion.com/472949/how-would-you-make-this-video-. Anyway, thought I'd post it. :-)
