Quake: SM190_Naitelveni Nightmare 100% in 2:12
SM190_Naitelveni "A cool air breeze after the rain, you feel the scent of grass as you breathe in and the warmth of the sun on your skin." by Naitelveni is a Quake map part of the SM190 "Six Textures" Pack. Download from Quaddicted: https://www.quaddicted.com/reviews/sm190_pack.html I recently went through a lot of new Quake map packs to see what the community has been working on. This is one of my favorites despite being a speedmap and being made with a restriction of only using 6 textures. It has great visuals and I also enjoy the gameplay with a lot of fast-paced action. The loop design and spawning of enemies in several stages together with the low amount of resources creates some interesting choices for the player when to fight or evade enemies and when to pick up resources. Most importantly the Quad damage has to be used to maximum effectiveness while being chased by Vore projectiles on high difficulties. I had fun playing this map on Nightmare without saves and figuring out a good strategy and after that thought about finding faster / more efficient ways of beating it. I came up with this route for 100% Nightmare. Besides a few sections, like evading the two Death Knights before the first button, it is fairly consistent. You can also kill them from safety but that's slower and then you have to deal with all Vore projectiles going after you. The most important part is not wasting any time with the Quad damage. You can leave the Scrags up until after killing the Shamblers to save a bit of health and Quad time. Also make sure to not pick up the 40 shotgun shells near the silver key until you need them. Ammo is pretty tight overall and especially if you can't use the Quad as effectively, you can't affort to waste any. Letting enemies alive to block Vore projectiles and infight is also helpful. If you're struggling to kill all enemies, you can also use a faster strategy, like my Any% route ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_QIskBYEPE ), or combine both to have the safer start of this one and then skip killing the Vores and Scrags and just exit after picking up the key and killing the Death Knights.
