Homelite 23A 115 2 generator

This generator was bought at a yard sale sometime before September 1959 by an elderly friend of mine who passed away last winter. I was able to play around with it a little several years ago and now own it. A testament to the way Richard took care of everything he owned, it has with it the owners and parts manuals, some newspaper clippings featuring similar "light plants" as he called them, a receipt from Homelite for a set of points, condenser, and the light bulb, a twist lock plug adapter, and what is probably the original starting rope. The main defect he always mentioned when asked about this unit was a tiny crack in the brass primer housing that he silver soldered when he bought it. It has some connecting rod play that I would like to fix, but today, after being almost completely unused for 40 years it fired on the third pull and ran on the third. 1950's spark plug and all.
