Gibson Les Paul Recording, circa 1971- A quick demonstration of the phase selector switch.
Quick demonstration of the 1971 Gibson Les Paul Recording model, specifically the ‘Phase In/Phase Out’ selector switch. This allows the player to select whether or not the two pickups are in or out of phase with each other, while both pickups are selected. A cool feature in these old, rare models. Les Paul himself preferred this model of guitar for the unique sounds that it creates, as well as the low impedance humbucker pickups. These were designed for plugging directly into the recording system in the studio. I’ll upload another video of the guitar with some drive behind it as a comparison.
