Pink Angel Trumpet Poison Flower

Pink Angel Trumpet are most often grown today as flowering ornamental plants. This flower have also traditionally been used in many South American indigenous cultures in medical preparations, as ointment, treating pains and aches, arthritis, rheumatism, headaches, infections, to expel worlds and parasites, as an anti inflammatory and as a sedative. All parts of Angel Trumpet (Brugmansia) are potentially poisonous, with the seeds and leaves being especially dangerous. Angel Trumpet flowers are rich in scopolamine (hyoscine), hyoscyamine, and several other tropane alkaloids which can lead to anticholinergic toxidrome and delirium. It has unpleasant effects and in some cases death. Handling this flower must be done with care. The gardener must always wear gloves while working with this plant.
