Running Baldur's Gate 3 (Early Access) on Linux in 4k
Stats about the system this is running on: Laptop: System76 Adder WS (1st Generation, released in 2019) OS: Pop!_OS 20.04 LTS Kernel: 5.4.0-7642-generic Processor: Intel® Core™ i9-9980HK CPU @ 2.40GHz × 16, turbo up to 5.00 GHz GPU: GeForce RTX 2070 Mobile Graphics Driver version: 455.23.04 Monitor Resolution: 3840x2160 @ 60Hz RAM: 64 GB (@ 2667 MT/s) Link to my ProtonDB entry with links for custom Proton: https://www.protondb.com/app/1086940#RwRlBKUn52 I had forgotten to check that I was capturing the game audio, but I was more showing that Baldur's Gate 3 does run on a Linux system right now, with a bit of work, and gives a ballpark idea of the performance and issues with running it on Proton/Linux. As I was recording 4k video to the same hard drive (non-SSD, as this is my work system and I didn't want to dedicate room on the SSD for the game) as the BG3 was running from, textures were loading much slower and there is much more stuttering in the game than if i wasn't recording, and I do not know if the other graphical issues is an issue with Proton, the Vulkan driver, or the game itself. Outside of recording the video, the game runs at nearly 60 FPS on my non-optimal setup at 4k with Ultra settings, and looks really good.
