Daniel Hargreaves - Bat Researcher - Honduran White Bats
In this video we see a bat that you may have seen previously on this channel, Honduran White-tent Bats (Ectophylla alba). They are a relatively rare species of bats and we have guests from all over the world come to see these cute little white bats. In the one day and night that Daniel and his group were here, they identified 7 species of bats and speculated that there could be up to 15 total species at Pierella Ecological Garden. We know that if we put bananas out where we feed the "day" birds, we'll get a lot of fruit-eating bats (another previously published video on this channel) with wing spans of 30 - 40 centimeters (11- 14 inches).
